2016 Legacy Programme                                                                            Home

With the 2016 UCI World Track Championships being held at the Olympic Velodrome (the first time it's been held in London since 1904) it was announced that 200,000 was being given to fund a "legacy programme" - to maximise the opportunities that this major sporting event can bring to the capital. The inclusive programme, which is funded by Sport England and provided by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority in conjunction with British Cycling, London Sport and London Legacy Development Corporation, aims to encourage local people of all ages to take the first steps towards an active, healthier lifestyle. To publicise the programme a press event was held at the velodrome on 26th January. I was invited to attend as a world record holder and was, among others, interviewed by  BBC London  and  London Live
